They are considered a semipermanent tattoo, they are done superficially into the skin, and they require two sessions. The difference between them is the technique itself.
With Microblading a blade is used to create individual hair strokes, it lasts one to 2 years, depending on; skin type, medication taken, sun exposure. Microblading is no recommended for mature or oily skin because over time the strokes blurred out.
Shading also known as Powder brows, Ombre brows, Hybrid brows, are done with a machine. It is the new type of semipermanent makeup. Shading makes it appear as though you have powder filled eyebrows, similar to the look achieved with makeup. It lasts around 2 to 3 years, it is recommended for any skin type, specially the ones used to fill in their eyebrows every day.
Combination Brows (AKA Combo brows) combines both techniques. Microblading (hairstrokes) is usually done in the front of the eyebrows and shading goes from middle, to tail of the brows, (depending on what the client likes). Shading adds more volume to the eyebrows. Combination brows are my favorite eyebrow technique because it makes them look 3D, realistic, full but still looking natural.
At iBrows & Beauty Boutique, we provide our clients with the best technique for them. Whether it is Microblading, Microshading or a combination of both.
